Chief’s Welcome
The Barrington Hills Police Department is a full-service law enforcement agency responsible for providing professional police services to the residents and visitors of the Village of Barrington Hills. We are staffed by 17 sworn police officers who are assigned to patrol and investigations. Police Officers are on duty 24 hours per day, seven days a week.
Our records division is open M – F 8AM – 4PM. 9-1-1 services are handled by consolidated emergency dispatch, Quadcom.
We are nationally accredited through Law Enforcement Accreditation from the Commission on Law Enforcement Accreditation (CALEA) since 2004. The purpose of CALEA is to improve the delivery of public safety services, primarily by: maintaining a body of standards developed by public safety practitioners, which covers a wide range of up-to-date public safety initiatives, establishing and administering an accreditation process; and recognizing professional excellence.
Specifically, CALEA’s goals are to:
- Strengthen crime prevention and control capabilities;
- Formalize essential management procedures;
- Establish fair and nondiscriminatory personnel practices;
- Improve service delivery;
- Solidify interagency cooperation and coordination; and
- Increase community and staff confidence in the agency.
I am proud to work alongside such a group of dedicated professionals here in Barrington Hills. We are committed to delivering a high level of service while upholding state laws and Village ordinances. We strive to build trust through transparency, accountability, and genuine partnership with the community. We pride ourselves on providing a high level of service while enforcing state statutes and Village ordinances ethically and impartially.
