Filing a Police or Crash Report
If you need to file a police report, crash report, or inform the Barrington Hills Police Department of any incident, an officer will meet with you—either at the Police Department or at a location within Barrington Hills, such as your home. This service is available seven days a week, 24 hours a day.
Option 1 – Have an Officer Dispatched to Your Location
Call our dispatch center (QuadCom) at 847-428-8784.
A telecommunicator will take some basic information—such as the nature of your call, your name, and a callback number—before dispatching a patrol officer to assist you.
Option 2 – Meet with an Officer at the Police Department
During Business Hours (Monday–Friday, 8 AM–4 PM, excluding Village holidays):
- Enter the outer lobby and proceed to the Records Department.
- A Records staff member will gather basic information, then contact dispatch to have an officer meet with you.
Outside Business Hours:
- Enter the outer lobby and pick up the black direct-dial phone.
- You will be connected directly to the dispatch center, where a telecommunicator will collect your information and arrange for an officer to meet you at the Department.
